Well, if it helps anyone, i'll tell you how i did it: I used 11 x 14 Bristol 300 (smooth) Series, 0.5 HB lead (mechanical pencil), standard pink eraser and a thin tortillion No. 1 (pencil blending tool). I draw out the general idea of the picture, lay in very light tones, then darker tones over the light ones and so on. I use the very pointed tip and the sides of the Tortillion (depending on how much surface area I have to shade). I draw everything as large as I can and have to scan the picture in several times and re-sew them back together in Photoshop. I don't complete the whole drawing at one time, I go really, really, really slow at it and work on parts here and there. I never rush, never.
